Ease Headache Tension with Scalp Massage

As the weather cools and tasks accumulate, it's easy to feel tension building in your scalp that can lead to headaches or migraines. Incorporate a simple scalp massage into your self-care routine for headache relief and chill vibes.

Warm a few drops of essential oil in your palms like lavender, peppermint or eucalyptus which have calming properties. Pro tip: many essential oils are highly concentrated so they need to be diluted in a carrier oil. When selecting a carrier oil, here are some things to consider... Jojoba oil is the closest to human sebum (your face's natural oils). Castor oil is used in many cultures to help regenerate hair growth.

Gently massage in small circular motions across your entire scalp, including hairline and back of head. Pro tip 2: use the pads of your fingers for more firm, direct pressure.

Pay extra attention to any tender spots where you feel tension or previous head pain.

Smooth the palms of your hands all over your head and rinse away stress under warm water in the shower before bed.

Repeat motions nightly or when you notice tension to relieve stress buildup before it mushrooms into a headache.

Don't forget-- When you schedule a massage with me, ask for a scalp massage to be included.
